Relationship Advice

Everyone’s always eager to share relationship advice, but where should you go to find good relationship advice? Friends can often help, but beware of ulterior motives. Don’t ask advice of someone who might benefit from your misery. Ask someone that you know has your best interests in mind or who has given you good advice in the past.

Relationship Problems

You’re bound to run into a slew of new relationship problems with each relationship you enter. The key to a happy relationship is knowing how to deal with the inevitable bumps in the road. Many relationship problems stem from either miscommunication, taking each other for granted, money problems, jealousy, interfering parents, and unfaithfulness. Some relationship problems are far more serious than others and in the end it’s up to you to decide which ones can be resolved and which ones can’t. One big mistake that many people make when they’re having relationship problems is getting married. People think that if they get married they’ll be forced to like each other and things will change when the marriage patches up the holes in their relationship. Unfortunately, this is never the case. If you have serious relationship problems going into a marriage, getting married will only make them worse. Not only will you have to see your partner more often, but you’ll have the added strain of paying for a wedding. Worse yet, is having kids to save your relationship. Chances are, if you don’t get along now, you’ll be worse off when faced with the many new challenges of becoming a parent, and ultimately, your children will suffer. The best thing to do when relationship problems arise is to try to put them in perspective. Take a minute to step back and consider both sides of the situation. If it helps, ask some friends what they think and then decide whether you simply need a good talk with your partner to put your relationship problems behind you, or whether your relationship problems go deeper than that.

Abusive Relationships

If you think you might be in an abusive relationship, talk to someone about it – other than your partner. Many victims of abuse who should seek help don’t, because they feel trapped. They may rationalize the seriousness of the abuse because they love their partner or they blame themselves for the abuse. Other victims of abusive relationships don’t seek help because they’re trying to hold their family together by staying with their abusive partner. Still others are afraid that their partners will hurt them if they find out. If you’re in an abusive relationship, get out of it as fast as you can because abusive relationships tend only to get worse in the long run.

Relationship Poems

If you’re a real romantic, you might appreciate relationship poems. Relationship poems, simply, are poems about relationships. Some relationship poems are celebratory, but many of them are about heartbreak and relationships gone bad. If you’ve suffered a recent breakup, you might find writing your own relationship poems to be therapeutic. If you make a habit of writing relationship poems every time you enter a new relationship, your relationship poems become like a diary that you can look back on when you’re old.

Relationship Help

If you’re having relationship problems, the first person to go to is usually your partner. It’s important that you discuss your relationship problems with your partner to make sure that they’re aware that the problem exists and that you want something done about it. Once you and your partner have identified your relationship problem, you can try to find a way to resolve it. If you’re not able to resolve your relationship problems on your own and you feel that the relationship is worth hanging onto, you should get relationship help from someone else. If you’re relationship problems aren’t too serious or embarrassing, you can ask some trusted friends for relationship help. If you’d rather your relationship help queries remain anonymous, you could write to a relationship help columnist. If you’re relationship problems are more serious or time-sensitive, you may have to go to a professional to get relationship help. This might be someone like a marriage counselor or a couples’ help group.

Long Distance Relationship

Long distance relationships can be a real challenge or they can be a great relief, depending on your situation. Long distance relationships are especially hard if you’ve already been in a relationship a while and then you or your partner moves away. If you’re used to seeing them regularly, a long distance relationship might be hard to adjust to. However, some long distance relationships work wonderfully, especially if that’s how the relationship begins. In other cases long distance relationships are great because they eliminate any physical relationship complications and give people a chance to get to know each other really well before they make any rash decisions. Another advantage of long distance relationships is that you’re far more excited to see each other when you do get together and you’re less likely to take each other for granted. However, long distance relationships can present a lot of new problems, like loneliness. If you and your partner don’t get to se each other for long periods of time, there’s a good chance that one of you might find someone else that interests you who’s closer to home.

Symbiotic Relationship

A symbiotic relationship refers to the relationship between two species that generally don’t have a predator-prey relationship. A symbiotic relationship can be one that both parties benefit from, called mutualism; both parties suffer from, called competition; or one in which one member benefits and the other suffers from the symbiotic relationship, called parasitism. Other symbiotic relationships do exist, but we will only discuss the most common ones here. A mutualistic symbiotic relationship, in my opinion, is the best kind of symbiotic relationship because it is one in which both parties benefit. For a mutualistic symbiotic relationship to exist, both parties involved must benefit from the relationship without harming the other party. An example of a mutualistic symbiotic relationship is that between a herbivorous animal and the creatures that live in its gut to help break down cellulose.
